Why Skills Credentials Matter

Skills Credentials are your verifiable, digital, or physical records that document your specific knowledge, skills and competencies, rather than just your academic history. They act as proof of proficiency - validating what you have learned and what you can actually do.

Skills Credentials come in two forms: your Statement of Skills Proficiency and Certified Skills Badges.

Your Statement of Skills Proficiency is your starting point. The statement lists all of your Certified Skills that are validated from your courses or units in your qualification against the selected skills standards. These skills are validated by the SkillsTX QA Schemas, agreed upon by our standard owners and the relevant professional bodies.

Once you have your Statement, you can upgrade at any time to apply for your certified digital skills badges. While these badges are published in your Skills Passport, you can also share these individually on your social media profiles such as LinkedIn.

Your Skills Credentials

Skills Credentials are employer-recognised skills badges and Statement of Skills Proficiency. They are built on skills mapping and validation at subject-level against industry standards, so your learning translates into the skills language employers use and recognise. This is designed to strengthen relevance for both employers and learners, and make skills more transparent and comparable.   

 

What makes the credentials valuable is trust. Credentials Cloud is designed to validate skills using curated, authoritative sources and structured frameworks, so results reference expert content and quality standards rather than having your qualification of as a proxy for skills. The result is skills credentials that carry clearer meaning for employers - in the language they use!

Our immediate focus is skills credentials for the Information Technology professional by leveraging on our deep partnership with the SFIA Foundation since 2016. 

SFIA is the global skills standard used by major employers to define their IT workforce.

Our history is in applying the SFIA framework (Skills Framework for the Information Age) - the global skills standard for digital and IT profession utilised by major employers. We are a partner to multiple accreditation and certification bodies such as for example, the SFIA Foundation where and our assessment schemas are used by the majority of SFIA badge issuers. This initial capability has since been extended into other professional domains.

With our new AI enablement models and technical capabilities for skills credentialing, we are the first provider to truly enable the education-to-employment journey with skills transparency.
